SOC-SME is a Northern Europe network in the field of SoC/ASIC/FPGA/embedded systems. The primary target is to facilitate the take-up of System-on-Chip integration technologies and technologies leading towards System-on-Chip, especially in small and medium-size enterprises. Interested companies and service and training providers are welcome to join the network. Funding for the network will be applied from the Nordic Industry Fund. The network spans the Nordic and Baltic countries.
The operations include awareness seminars, local and distant-learning training course organization. The network will also assist in getting support for the take-up of new methodology and tools in this field. It is also an exellent catalyst to establish deeper partnerships with other companies and organizations. A portal to training and other services is planned.
The membership in the network is absolutely free.
The network is controlled by a steering committee. There will be training sites in each of the participating countries. On the national level there can be local networks organized to facilitate interfacing to this bigger network. An example of this is the SOC-SME-FI network in Finland (page in Finnish!).
